Industry Focus: Consumer Goods
When it comes to consumer technology, innovation is only an effective selling point if you find outlets to share that idea with the general buying public. Enter iWave Cube, a portable personal microwave that allows consumers to cook on the run. With this brand new personal tech product, iWave Cube founder Phil Davis approached SS|PR to manage the product launch and publicity campaign.
The iWave Cube was a fresh concept, but SS|PR still needed to work hard on creating a buzz around the convenience of such a small cooking resource. The SS|PR team set its strategy into motion, pitching personal technology outlets and writers while helping prepare the iWave Technologies team for the 2008 Home & Housewares Show in Chicago.
With SS|PR’s help, iWave Cube was covered on a host of influential personal technology blogs and websites (e.g. Gizmodo, Crunchgear, CNET). The account team worked tirelessly to hit national television outlets, securing coverage ranging from the Today Show’s Home & Housewares Show wrap-up to the View’s featured give away item of the day. Print stories about the iWave Cube ran in local and national daily publications (e.g. Chicago Tribune, New York Post, MSNBC). When Associated Press decided to write a story on the iWave Cube, countless outlets picked it up, creating a significant buzz around the unique product
