This position is responsible for the daily management of client deliverables and account teams. The person in this role will facilitate the execution of client strategy and serve as lead client contact on a variety of accounts. Ability to motivate others and provide feedback on deliverables is essential.

Essential Functions

  1. Assist in leading client contact including conference calls and written communication
  2. Delegate staff assignments related to accounts including provides weekly updates and assigns action items to staff. Review staff deliverables and make corrections as needed
  3. Review client strategy with leadership team and make recommendations as well as implement plans
  4. Provide superior customer service to clients and proactively identify issues
  5. Facilitate teamwork within account team and coordinate team resources
  6. Collaborate with all levels of leadership and staff to consistently improve and expand PR knowledge and strategy creation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer degree in public relations, journalism or related field.

Minimum one year of public relations or marketing experience. Prefer two years public relations or marketing experience with diverse client populations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will indirectly supervise Interns, Assistant Account Executives, and Account Executives. No direct supervision of staff.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

The position is permanent and located in Colorado Springs. The position is paid salary and full time work of 40 hours per week with some extended hours expected. Office hours are Monday- Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

Travel

10% travel is required for this position

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Our Boston office is currently seeking outgoing, articulate individuals who are well-organized to fill an Account Executive position. SSPR provides hands-on experience in public/media relations for technology, Internet and consumer electronics companies. Ideal candidates would have over two years experience in media relations and its role in the product cycle; pitching clients to the media for print, TV and radio exposure; task management (ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, organize/prioritize); account management/relationship building; enhanced communication skills; event planning and general administrative skills.

Individual must have solid writing skills and understand different writing styles for various communication channels. Understanding of Mac operating systems is useful.

This person needs to be energetic and a fast learner with a sense of humor. Flexibility is a must as the person in this position must be capable of shifting gears quickly to carry out assignments in a sometimes high-stress environment.

Time and resources management is a must to successfully take assignments from start to finish. The account executive should be someone who is a self-starter, but at the same time, does not hesitate to ask questions or seek help if they need it. Strong interpersonal skills are very important to assure prompt, adequate and personable communications with clients, as well as other staff to provide necessary updates on the status of their work.

This position will provide assistance to account teams in all areas of public relations. The person is in this role is responsible for identifying appropriate media contacts for each account, fostering reporter relationships and delivering consistent media leads. This position will also provide research for account team analysis as well as assist in creation of various documents for accounts.

Essential Functions

  1. Deliver accurate and timely client results as instructed by account lead
  2. Contact appropriate reporters using CisionPoint as well as individual research
  3. Create clips and briefing sheets for use in client communications
  4. Attend conference calls as active listener and make suggestions on account as appropriate
  5. Deliver media outreach with leads for assigned accounts by approved deadlines
  6. Maintain accurate records on updates for accounts and email to account lead consistently
  7. Provide general administrative support to account teams and office staff

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer degrees in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Previous internship or similar work experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field required.
