Assistant Coordinators 

Great opportunity for new graduates!  We are seeking entry level public relations coordinators to work within our coast-to-coast account teams.  In this role, you will research clients, learn how to create dynamic PR campaigns, and begin building media relationships.  Daily work will include media pitching, administrative support, or helping your account team brainstorm the next great PR idea.  You should have a strong interest in media, storytelling, and research.  You should be a creative thinker with a high degree of initiative and innate curiosity.  Strong writing and communication skills are a must.  As part of our media relations staff, you will juggle multiple tasks throughout the day and pivot quickly.  If you thrive under pressure, possess strong initiative, and love to be challenged, this is a great opportunity for you.

Minimum Qualifications

In this role, you will have direct accountability for successful PR campaigns by managing teams, clients, and operations.  You will lead large accounts and teams as well as formally manage people including other leaders. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate advanced PR skills by effectively executing client campaigns, meeting established goals and metrics, and delivering a track record of high quality service through strategic leadership, staff development, and commitment to exceptional results.

 

Daily Responsibilities

  • Create strategic PR campaigns by partnering with client and account team to identify goals and metrics as well as manage their successful execution resulting in client satisfaction and ultimately, client retention
  • Direct team on PR strategy plans, presentations, and proposals ensuring all client facing documents reflect clients’ needs and goals
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of client’s business and offer strategic counsel on matters related to client, product, industry, and competitive landscape as well as encourage staff development in these same areas
  • Guide the growth and development of media relations staff through solid talent management skills within the employee lifecycle (recruitment to separation)
  • Create functional areas of account management to allow employees to build knowledge, skills, and abilities across a wide variety of technical PR processes

 

Role Requirements

  • Possess advanced verbal and written communication skills including the ability to resolve conflict, persuade change, and establish professional rapport quickly
  • Resolve problems by utilizing resources and takes appropriate action at departmental and organizational level

  • Three years’ experience in advanced people management within a communications agency.  Experience preferred in complete employment lifecycle to include mentorship, staff assessment and development, and performance improvement.

In this role, you will lead higher retainer account teams and manage the daily execution of account work.  You will create account goals, track progress, and collaborate with senior leadership on strategy for a variety of account types.  This position is a people manager for junior and mid-level staff.

 

Daily Responsibilities

  • Develop short and long term PR strategy plans, presentations, and proposals with a focus on practical execution of account strategy and results
  • Serve as clients’ primary contact while independently managing and providing oversight on projects and tasks to effectively manage PR campaigns
  • Drive client media relations program by regular engagement with media to secure optimal coverage
  • Support and direct account teams, serving as a role model and mentor in client work, team collaboration, and professionalism
  • Lead and resolve problems on accounts across the agency
